It is a wonderful thing to be promoted within an organization. Whether it is moving up the ladder of a Board or Committee, graduating from novice to veteran status, or moving from one set of obligations to another there is something so satisfying about being recognized for your contributions and dedication . . . I am flattered. And overwhelmed.
In the work-a-day world it isn't easy to shrug off the mantle of one job description and assume the duties of the next. There isn't a support team running around ordering business cards, updating files, or managing records --- no Assistants making sure my caffine addiction is taken care of and that the supply cabinet has the kind of pens I like --- where are the Paperwork Fairies when you need them??
And why does it take so blessed long to get anything accomplished??!!!?!
I have a simple wish.
Please, oh please, may I check off one task on my List of Do??
Wait. I have managed to post a new blog entry for the first time in three months . . . I did it. Check!
Maybe I can do this after all . . . ;-)
